In 1927 the local fisherman of Mandurah and other young men of the community formed a footy team. Their first ground was where the Mandurah Primary School is today in Hackett Street. With the help from others in the community they cleared the bush-land and built their first football field.
In the early 50's Mr Cyril Rushton head of the Mandurah Road board found an acreage along Dower Street. Mr Jack Scott and Bill Hough along with the rest of the community created the new oval that we now call our home grounds Rushton Park Oval.
This was home to the Mandurah Centrals Junior Football Club, in 2016 the MCJF amalgamated with the Mandurah Mustangs Senior Club, creating more opportunities and a pathway for Junior footballers to transition on to the seniors.
In 2019 the first Inaugural Integrated Team debut further strengthening and adding depth to the Mustangs Club.
